I’m going to be teaching at the gallery as well…..

June 13, 14 and 15 – Form, Function & Beauty

Mono-prints, screen prints, carved block prints and prints made with found objects will be the raw materials for composing exciting textile pieces. Buildings ancient or modern, fences, gates, towers, tiles, furniture and all the other useful creations of human kind are our inspiration for this 3 day workshop.
We will start with a day spent creating prints on fabric using thickened dye and paints. Students will then be guided through the process of developing their own designs inspired by man-made structures. Whole cloth, cut up as feature fabric or inspiring an original composition your prints will be used to produce unique textile masterpieces.

All dyes and paints will be provided for this workshop.
There will be a lab fee for this course.

July 06 & 06 – Snow White Bird

This 2 day workshop is inspired by one of the many creation stories featuring Raven in a starring role. We will look at Pacific Northwest symbols, art forms and legends and using several creation stories as our materials we will explore a few of my favourite ways to include the stories in your work using print, stencil and stitch. The motif can be bonded and free machine stitched as wished. Your Raven will need a place to perch maybe a tree, or a shell or any other place the legends lead you!

August 7th through 10th , 2014- Festival of Quilts at the NEC in Birmingham, UK

I’ll be teaching Quick and Easy workshops every day on the Mettler stand.

  1. Hi Catherine, Good to read your blog and catch up.. I have just attended the Jeddah Quilt show, just a small show with local ladies. I put my two pieces that I completed on the course and all the ladies loved them. I had several offers to buy the Arabesque piece which I showed you at the Birmingham Quilt Show. I am still travelling and also still quilting, I am in the middle of my 3rd quilt with a geometric slant… I think this will be the last one. Time to change direction. Chris
